ORIS is implementing OneDrive to backup data for Office of Research laptops and to allow easier access to data from anywhere OneDrive is accessible.
When implemented, users will be presented with the following screen to choose folders to be backed up to OneDrive.
After choosing folders, click start backup. Your device will begin to back up to your OneDrive account. Depending on the amount of data, the transfer can take a considerable amount of time. Keep the device powered on and connected to the internet. If interrupted, the backup will resume (i.e. power loss, internet loss, etc.) once services are restored.

What happens when I delete a file from my device?
The files are deleted from the user's OneDrive. Files in folders chosen for backup are not stored locally on the device.
Can I restore deleted files?
Yes, The user can recover deleted files from OneDrive and instructions can be found at the following link.

Please note: Files are automatically deleted from the recycle bin after 93 days.
