Subscribe to an Exchange calendar

Office 365 gives users the ability to publish their Exchange calendar to a web URL. This allows the user to view their calendar without installing the Outlook Mobile app on their phone by using the native iOS or Android calendar applications to subscribe to the calendar.

Please note that this can only be used to view existing calendar events; new events will need to be created with the Outlook Mobile app, the Outlook desktop client, or Outlook for the web.

Steps to Publish the Calendar:

  1. On a computer, sign in to with your OSU account.

  2. In the upper left, click on the Settings gear and search Outlook settings for “Publish”.

  3. Select Publish a calendar.

  4. Under publish a calendar, use the drop down menus to select Calendar, Can view titles and locations, and then click Publish.

  5. Copy the ICS subscription link

Steps to Subscribe to the Calendar with the iOS Calendar app (iPhones, iPads):

  1. Email the link copied in Step 5 above to an email account you can access on the iPhone.

  2. Open the email with the link on the iPhone, and copy the URL.

  3. Open the iPhone Settings app.

  4. Scroll down to Passwords and Accounts (older versions of iOS say Accounts and Passwords), and tap it.

  5. Tap Add Account.

  6. Tap Other, or Other Account.

  7. Tap Add Subscribed Calendar.

  8. Paste the URL in the Server field, and tap Next.

  9. Enter a helpful Description in the Description field (optional); do not enter anything in the username and password field.

  10. Tap Save.

  11. You should now be able to toggle the subscribed Calendar to be visible in the iOS calendar app.

Steps to Subscribe to the Calendar with the Google Calendar app (Google/Samsung/other Android devices):

  1. Log into your Google Calendar at
    The Google Calendar login screen; Google is at the top, and there is an empty field for the user's email adress or phone number to be entered.

  2. On the left navigation pane, click the plus sign next to Other Calendars.

  3. Choose From URL

  4. Paste in the link copied in step 5. Do not check to make the calendar publicly accessible. Click Add Calendar.

  5. The calendar will now appear under Other Calendars (usually with the name Calendar).

  6. On your phone, open the Google Calendar app.

  7. Expand your Gmail account calendar.

  8. You should now be able to toggle the subscribed Calendar to be visible.
