A VPN is needed to connect to the Office of Research from a remote location. To access the VPN, your device requires Anti-Virus/Malware software to be installed and actively scanning. Devices issued by OR have been imaged with the correct software to connect and should not need additional software installed.

When connecting to the Office of Research with a non-OR device, an anti-virus program may need to be installed. After connecting, the device will only be able to remote desktop to your work computer. Windows computers normally have an anti-virus program pre-installed.

Apple products may need software installed to connect; the following are highly rated, free anti-virus products, tested for compatibility with the VPN:
